DEPOPULATION DEPARTMENT was formed in the summer of 2018, by Ana (Haemorrhage), Jose (ex-Haemorrhage/Ultimo Gobierno) and Luisma (Haemorrhage). The original idea was to play Punk/Crust/D-beat influenced by old bands from the 80s with both male and female vocals and "anti-everything" lyrics.
Some months later Lucky (former member of the Death Metal band Avulsed along with Luisma) joined on bass and gave the name to the band. Soon after DxDx started to write their first songs and recorded some demos. In February 2019 DxDx entered the studio to record their first ever official release, entitled "Life Kills" set to be released via Spikerot Records in September.

This album is an absolute banger. The riffs are especially groovy this time, the vocals are amazing, and the overall thing is supercatchy. If I'd have to list one downside, it's that the mix is so bass-heavy that the sound only truely comes into it's right when listened on good headphones or extremely good speakers. On anything less it can sound like the bass drowns the rest of the music out. 9/10 Buzzario

NONE a opéré un virage dans Where Life Should Be et ça se confirme davantage dans Damp Chill of Life. Le temps des métaphores est révolu : l'humidité froide, c'est celle des larmes qui coulent sur le visage à cause de la dépression. Tout pleure dans cet album : les guitares typées DSBM grésillent, les solos ("The Damp Chill of Life", "It's Painless To Let Go") sont liquides et coulent, les voix prennent à la gorge ; même le piano, étranglé par les sanglots ("Cease"), est aphone.
